Hello Investors!
Version 3 of Stock + and Stock + Pro was released on the Mac App Store last week and is now in the hands of over 250,000 users world wide! Thank you for being such a great and intelligent group.
As you are starting to sink your teeth into the radically new app, let me share some tips, hints, and tricks to get the most out of it. At the end there is even a special deal for those of you wanting to go Pro.
Tip #1 – Using the Inspector Pane
The inspector pane holds all of the key metrics (high, low, div, yield, volume, p/e, etc.) as well as a place to write notes, news articles (Pro), StockTwits (Pro), and Alerts (Pro).
You can view the inspector pane by clicking on the ‘i’ button in the upper right corner of the watchlist page or by using the hotkey Cmd+I.
Tip #2 – Configure the Window To Your Liking
By default v3 shows a plethora of information. Maybe more information than what you want. Thanks to the new flexibility of v3, you can configure the window to show just what you want.
For instance, did you know that you could hide the left sidebar (Cmd+Shift+K)? Or that you could make the chart area taller or shorter by clicking and dragging?
You can even change what columns are displayed in the watchlist table.
Tip #3 – Viewing a Chart Instead of a Heat Map
The app is showing a heat map and you want to view a Chart, so you click on Chart and nothing happens. You might have run into this scenario if you did not have a stock selected in the watchlist table above. The app cannot show a chart if nothing is selected!
Tip #4 – The Entire App Window is Blank
Please see this help article for a solution. If you are seeing charts, and watchlists then you are not affected.
Tip #5 – Show Only The Stocks you Want in the Scrolling Ticker
If you only want to see a handful of stocks in the ticker, you can turn on or off stocks by going to the master WATCHLISTS sidebar item. In the inspector pane is a setting for each symbol “Visible in Ticker”.

I put in some fund ISINs which the app recognises but no prices are shown. why is this?
Not all funds are supported by the app.
I like to separate sectors with a blank bar. How can I do this?
Either make up a new watchlist or add a user symbol like $$BLANK or $$_, $$empty, etc. With the latter, use View > Sorting > Manual Sorting
